Chelsea and Cole DeBoer are reliving a harrowing incident that occurred at their new store just before its grand opening.
In a PEOPLE exclusive first look at the season 3 premiere of Down Home Fab, above, viewers see the startling event unfold at the married HGTV stars’ new store, Down Home by Deboers, in Sioux Falls, S.D.
The Teen Mom 2 alum and her husband are gearing up for their grand opening of their store, when Chelsea gets an unexpected phone call from one of her employees.
“Chelsea, a car just drove through the front of the store,” her employee says, “I just got off the phone with the police. They’re on their way.”

Chelsea confirms everyone is okay, but when the employee notes that “there’s glass everywhere,” she rushes over to her husband who’s working on a renovation project in another room.
“Someone just f—ing crashed into the store. I’m not joking. We have to go,” she tells him. The pair drop everything and run to their cars. Cole rushes to the scene of the collision while Chelsea heads to pick up their kids first.
The clip cuts to footage from the store’s security cameras right before the crash, as customers are seen strolling through the space and admiring the products during the soft opening. All of a sudden, a white car slams into the corner window of the storefront, prompting the customers to jump back in fear.

“When you start a business you think about a lot of things, but getting a phone call and hearing that a car crashed into your store is not one of those things,” Chelsea says in a confessional-style clip with Cole.
The designer, who first appeared on MTV’s Sixteen and Pregnant, adds, “Immediately my mind is going to worst case scenario and thinking, ‘Are any customers hurt? Are our employees hurt?’ Or, ‘Our store is destroyed.’ When I find out that nobody was hurt, it was such a sense of relief.”

Cole then recalls how the driver “felt absolutely horrible” after the accident. “She was bawling in my arms,” he adds.
In the aftermath of the incident, the pair have to clean the space up and empty out the inventory that was hit with glass.
“We got the window boarded up. There was glass that hit everything in this vicinity and so we’re having to clear out quite a bit. Even more than I think I was expecting,” Chelsea explains.
Cole says, “We have a grand opening in a couple weeks. How are we going to fix that in time?”
