Investigation underway after man found dead in South Park pond
Allegheny County police are investigating after a body was recovered from a pond in South Park Sunday morning. In a post from the department, officials responded to a small pond located on Maple Springs Drive around 7:45 a.m. following reports of a body being found. Homicide detectives were notified, along with the county’s medical examiner, and both later arrived at the scene. Following the incident, the Allegheny County Medical Examiner identified the victim as 36-year-old Kevin Stewart of Bethel Park. Allegheny County police said in their original post that at this time, there are no obvious signs of trauma.An investigation is ongoing.
