How can teams qualify for IPL 2025 playoffs

The top four teams on the points table at the end of the 70-match league stage will qualify for the IPL 2025 playoffs.

If teams are tied on the same number of points after playing their allotted 14 matches, the Net Run Rate (NRR) will come into play. The team with a better NRR will be ranked higher on the points table.

Most successful teams in IPL playoffs

Chennai Super Kings have reached the playoffs 12 times in 18 seasons and have played a record 26 playoff matches, winning 17 and losing nine.

Mumbai Indians follow with 20 playoff matches, winning 13 and losing seven. MI, however, boast the best record in finals, having won five titles in six attempts.

Their only loss in an IPL final came against CSK in 2010.
