Red Sox at Brewers lineups for May 27
The Red Sox have not announced a starter for tonight’s contest, although manager Alex Cora suggested that Richard Fitts, who had been scheduled to make a second rehab start, this one for Triple A Worcester on Tuesday, could return to the big leagues. He tossed three scoreless innings vs. Reading for Double A Portland last Thursday, allowing four hits and striking out two while tossing 38 pitches (31 strikes).
Update 4:30 p.m.: The Red Sox reinstated Fitts from the 15-day injured list, and lefthander Zach Penrod from the 60-day injured list and optioned him to Worcester. Righthander Zach Kelly was optioned to Worcester as well.
Milwaukee will send former Northeastern standout Aaron Civale to the mound. The righthander will make his second start since coming off the injured list with a strained left hamstring. In his first start back back at Pittsburgh last Thursday, he allowed two runs on four hits in four innings of an 8-5 win.
