Reese Witherspoon and Boyfriend Oliver Haarmann ‘Ready to Take the Next Steps’ in Their Relationship
Greenwich Village residents might be getting another A-list neighbor. According to Page Six, Reese Witherspoon and boyfriend Oliver Haarmann toured a high-end building in the Manhattan hood in March. They were reportedly so impressed that the couple returned to view one specific unit multiple times!
Whether or not the Morning Show star, 49, and her German financier boyfriend, 57, end up purchasing that exact property remains to be seen. However, it’s clear that the pair,
who began dating last July, are becoming more serious. “While Reese and Oliver have been good at keeping their romance under the radar, things are starting to shift,” an insider exclusively tells Life & Style. “They seem ready to take the next steps — which include being less secretive about one another and seeing what living under the same roof looks like.”
The situation is an unexpected one for Reese. After splitting from second husband Jim Toth, 54, in 2023, the Oscar winner didn’t appear to be looking for love again, instead choosing to focus on her thriving career and her three children: Ava, 25, and Deacon, 21 — whom she shares with first hubby Ryan Phillippe, 50 — and her son with Jim, Tennessee, 12. But meeting Oliver, says the insider, changed everything. “He’s funny, smart, and they have a lot in common,” notes the insider. “Friends say they’re on the same page about most things; it’s a very grown-up relationship.”
Reese Witherspoon and Oliver Haarmann Are Taking Major Steps in Their Relationship
NYC is the perfect place for the two to dabble in cohabitation: Oliver’s private equity company, Searchlight Capital, is headquartered there, and in addition to filming some of The Morning Show in the city, Reese no doubt loves visiting with her older son as he studies at New York University. “Deacon and Oliver get along well,” says the insider, adding that the divorcé also has good relationships with her other kids — as well as a few of Reese’s gal pals. “Friends like Nicole Kidman and Jennifer Aniston have actually encouraged her to move in with Oliver.”
Reese is unlikely to become a full-time resident of the Big Apple. Currently, she divides her time between her home in LA and an $18 million mansion in her native Nashville — and she would likely just add NYC to the rotation. But if things continue to go well with Oliver, that could alter the balance. “An engagement might be in their future,” reveals the insider. “Reese is telling pals that she never thought she’d be twice divorced, but being married again is definitely something she would consider.”
