Storm chances return for Memorial Day Weekend – NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth
Keep your umbrellas handy for Memorial Day as rounds of showers and thunderstorms will move across the area.
Shower and thunderstorm coverage will increase across North Texas heading into Memorial Day due to a cold front. Therefore, a Flood Watch is in effect until Tuesday morning. NBC 5’s Kevan Smith has the latest forecast.
A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH is in effect in North Texas, including Dallas and Fort Worth, until 5 a.m. Monday.

A FLOOD WATCH is in effect for northern, eastern and central North Texas, including Dallas and Fort Worth, until 7 a.m. Tuesday. Expect rainfall totals of 2 to 3 inches with some areas up to 6 inches.

Some of these storms could turn severe, bringing large hail and damaging winds. Those with outdoor plans will need to be weather aware.
